I Answered the Fire: A Night I Claimed My Power

Tonight was unexpected I found myself alone for the evening, something that rarely happens. At first, I didn’t know what to do with the stillness. I felt restless but unmotivated. My instinct was to just go to bed early and call it a quiet night. But my body and spirit had other plans. I got up, wandered downstairs, thinking maybe a snack would settle the unease. But I kept feeling this pull, outdoors, to the elements, to the fire. I resisted at first. It felt silly to build a fire just for myself. But the call didn’t go away. So I listened. And I’m so glad I did. A Simple Fire Became Sacred I stepped outside, gathered wood, struck a match, and watched the flames come alive. I put on shamanic drumming music and settled in, thinking I would just relax. But something shifted. I found myself mesmerized by the flames, but it wasn’t just fire I was drawn to, it was the sky. The moon hung there in powerful silence, clouds moved like whispers, and the breeze through the trees felt electric. Every element around me was alive, and I could feel my energy rising with it. Suddenly, I wasn't just sitting by a fire. I was remembering who I am. I Stood Up and Called My Power Back I began to move. I let the beat of the drum guide me. I cleansed myself with the smoke. I reached up into the sky, into the energy above me, and pulled it down into my being. And then, I spoke words I didn’t plan: “I call my power back. All of it.” I felt it return, piece by piece. I felt strength, heat, purpose, and something ancient move through me. The fire, the wind, the moon, the stars, they all bore witness as I stood there fully in myself. It wasn’t a planned ritual. It was a remembering. A Message from Spirit When I came back inside, buzzing with energy, I pulled a single card from my Guardians of the Night Tarot deck, looking for confirmation. The King of Wands appeared. A lion sits at the center of that card, powerful, present, sovereign. A crow rests on his head. A sunflower glows behind them. A crown of stars sparkles in the night sky. I felt it. Spirit was not subtle tonight. The card was a mirror. It said: You remembered your fire, and now you’re being crowned for it. I’m Sharing This Because... I’ve spent so much of my life shrinking, hiding, apologizing for the space I take up. I've gone through lifetimes of silence, suppression, and forgetting. But tonight, I stepped outside and remembered. Tonight, I stood in my power. Tonight, I became the fire. If you’re reading this, and you’ve felt disconnected from your power lately, let this be your sign. Your fire still burns. Your voice still matters. And when you’re ready to call it back, it will come. You are not alone. We are rising together.
